I just got back from my weekend extravaganza, helping my friend do some more household purging. Life can get pretty cluttered. All you can do is toss stuff you no longer find important and organize the things you cherish.

03.16.2006 - Server surprise

Received the primary SQL server's new 300GB sATA MaxLine hard drive and controller card from Travis today. But after opening the server I was greeted with a problem. A dead northbridge fan. I am amazed at how stable things can run with limited hard drive space and poor cooling. Anyways, I ripped the old fan and heatsink off and installed a new old, and then installed the new controller and hard drive. Now, the SQL Server is alot happier.

Spent the day assembling and testing used parts into computers. It is sad when a pile of old parts can run XP better than a new Dell.
